Product management proficiency report

What PMCert open assessments show about where product professionals get it right and where they struggle, domain by domain. Averages and counts only: no individual score leaves this page.

Each open assessment has 20 questions at the level of the certification exam, is free, needs no account and no card, and gives the result on the spot with a percentage per domain.

Where the data comes from

Every PMCert certification has an open assessment: twenty questions at the level of the certification exam, answered in the browser, with the correct answer and the reasoning shown right after. Whoever takes it sees the overall percentage and the percentage in each domain of the certification blueprint.

The server recalculates each result against the answer key and stores it with no name, no email and no account. This page adds those results up by certification and by domain and publishes the averages. A certification only enters the report once it has at least 30 results, and a domain only appears with the same minimum.

The sample is made of people who chose to take the assessment: people interested in certification, usually already working in product. It is not a portrait of the whole market, but of those measuring their own knowledge before an exam.

Averages by certification

The report has no numbers to publish yet

No certification has reached 30 results. The averages appear here as soon as the first one does, with no manual edit.

Not yet in the report

  • CPM-F: 10 results, 20 more needed.
  • CPM-E: 7 results, 23 more needed.
  • CAPDS: 1 results, 29 more needed.
  • CKMS: 1 results, 29 more needed.

Certifications with fewer than 30 results stay out until the sample gets there. The number enters on its own at the next regeneration of the page.

Numbers read on November 5, 2026.

How to read the numbers

The domain average is the mean of the percentages each person obtained in that domain, in their session. A domain averaging 60% means that, on average, people answered six out of ten questions on that topic correctly.

The bands repeat what each person saw on screen: solid foundation from 75%, almost there from 55%, and time to study below that. The cut-offs sit above the passing score of the exams on purpose, because twenty questions are a small sample. The band is indicative, and so is the report.

Methodology

  1. 01

Source: results of the open assessments tied to a PMCert certification, recorded by the server from the chosen options. The generic fundamentals set and the transversal skills assessment are left out, because they do not follow a certification blueprint.

  2. 02

Unit: one complete assessment session. The same person can take the assessment more than once; each session counts once.

  3. 03

Domain average: arithmetic mean of the per-session percentages, rounded to the integer. Overall average: mean of the total percentages of the sessions.

  4. 04

Publication minimum: 30 results per certification and per domain. Below that, nothing is published.

  5. 05

Anonymity: the results table stores no name or email by default, and this page reads only the percentage, the band, the language and the date. No individual data is displayed or exported.

  6. 06

Update: the page regenerates every hour with the accumulated results; the citable edition is twice a year, with the date at the end of this section.
