Who this is for
You already manage a product and decide under constraints
A short deadline, three areas competing for the same capacity, and one number contradicting another. The exam does not ask the name of the technique: it asks what you do with the case in front of you.
You have broad knowledge and want to prove judgement
Strategy, market, scope, customer, delivery, metrics and life cycle in a single exam. Whoever memorised the vocabulary recognises the topics and stalls at the decision.
You want a credential that does not depend on a course
No training is required, and PMCert does not sell the course that prepares you for its own exam. The experience you already carry from the job is what counts.
What you take with you
A permanent verification code
Anyone confirms your credential at pmcert.org/verify, without having to ask you for anything.
Approval that does not expire
A credential you earned does not lapse, asks for no annual renewal and charges no subscription.
LinkedIn and a public profile
Add it to your licenses and certifications section, or share the link to your profile.
A certificate with your score by domain
In PDF, showing how you performed in each area assessed.
What you need to know
Seven domains, drawn at random from a bank written for this exam. Read each one and see where you stand.
Product strategy and vision
Turning the declared company objective into a product decision, and holding the long-term vision when the pressure is quarterly. When to stop generating options, and what to do with the opportunity the scenario analysis found.
Market, competition and positioning
Reading a competitor move through the real usage of the customers at risk, and sizing the market by what the operation serves today. Brand, trend, channel and entry into a new market, decided with the numbers that exist.
Value proposition and scope decisions
What to preserve when scope is cut, when to stop validating and commit capacity, and how price and packaging follow the value delivered. Minimum scope is relative to an audience, not to a list of features.
Customer, segment and journey
Deciding when the interview contradicts the usage data, and recognising input gathered in a biased way before investing in it. The real context of use governs the design, not the monitor of whoever drew it.
Prioritisation, backlog and delivery
Ordering under real constraints: a work-in-progress limit, a priority category agreed in the minutes, and a story the team can actually execute. Who answers for the backlog order when three areas add to it directly.
Metrics, goals and product performance
Choosing the indicator that changes a decision, and reading acquisition cost together with tenure. Objectives and key results, the success criterion defined before launch, and the target that came to measure the negotiation.
Product life cycle and release decisions
Launching with a known defect, opening the version to the outside at the right moment, and deciding what to do with the part of the product that has matured. Authority over what is shared, and withdrawing a feature with residual use.
Test your knowledge with the Open Assessment
The Open Assessment has twenty questions at the level of the exam, with the result on the spot and a score for each domain. It is the honest way to decide whether you are ready.
Test your knowledgeNo course is required
The exam is the same for everyone, and how you prepare is your call: a course, a book, or the experience you already carry from the job.
No prerequisite: this certification can be your starting point, with no Foundation or any other credential required. And it is the mandatory prerequisite for the Certified Product Leadership Executive (CPLE).
Your access to the exam arrives by email as soon as the payment clears, and it does not expire. Payment is handled by Stripe.
